Complex data from distributors worldwide

Each distributor used its own accounting system and had different capabilities to share data.

A unified data platform for all distributors

Cobit Solutions designed and implemented a centralized data warehouse.

One source of truth for better decisions

A single source of truth reduced manual work and improved the quality of business analytics.

Collaboration that delivers

Cobit Solutions team was responsive and engaged. We worked as one team, with a clear scope and a step-by-step approach. New data sources were connected gradually as they became ready.

All distributors were connected, data was coming in, transformed to the required format, validated, and stored in a single data warehouse. Everything worked, and we used it to build analytics and reports.

When your business needs a single data warehouse

Disparate data sources may not cause problems right away. But as data volumes, systems, and reporting needs grow, manual consolidation becomes slower and the risk of inconsistencies increases. Here are a few signs that it may be time for your business to consider Data Warehouse / Data Integration.

ERP, CRM, accounting software, Excel, and other sources store separate parts of the information. Individual reports do not provide a clear view of which metrics affect what.

Because reports are prepared manually, you lose valuable time. While the team collects and reconciles data from different sources, managers receive the information they need with delays.

Different data sources, calculation rules, and data versions can produce different values for the same metric.

As the number of data sources, data volumes, and users grows, the current analytics system may no longer handle the workload. Report refreshes become slower, failures occur more often, and adding new data increasingly complicates the entire system.

Each new data source requires integration setup, field mapping, validation, and ongoing support. The more separate connections there are, the more work is required from the BI/Data team and the higher the cost of developing analytics.

How data centralization works

In most companies, data lives in different systems. Sales data is in the CRM, financial data in accounting software, operational metrics in the ERP, and some information in Excel. Each source operates separately and shows only part of the picture.

Centralization changes how information is handled in four stages:

Data from different systems consolidated into a single warehouse for analytics
  1. Data collection
    (Extract)

Data automatically flows from different systems and sources into a single environment for further processing.

  2. Cleansing and standardization (Transform)

Data is cleansed and standardized to follow consistent rules, formats, and structures.

  3. Validation and reconciliation

If the same entity has different names, codes, or formats across systems, these differences are identified and reconciled before reports are built.

  4. Loading into the warehouse (Load)

The prepared data is loaded into a single warehouse, forming the foundation for BI dashboards, management reporting, and further analytics.

A simple example from an international manufacturing and distribution group

Before centralization

A manager wants a complete view of sales. One distributor sends data automatically. Another sends an Excel file. A third uses its own accounting system. An analyst manually collects everything, reconciles the figures, and looks for discrepancies. This takes time, delaying the manager’s access to up-to-date information.

After centralization

Data from all distributors automatically flows into a single warehouse. The system standardizes the format, validates the data, and prepares it for analytics. The manager opens a dashboard and sees consistent metrics without anyone having to consolidate files manually.

Getting started

How to get started with
Data Warehouse / Data Integration

Start by identifying your main business challenge and sharing
the data and systems you work with.
We will help assess your current setup and recommend
the right approach to integration.

    Book a
    consultation

Tell us about your challenge, current systems, and analytics needs so we can explore what your future solution could deliver.

  2. 02

    Define your
    business goals

Together, we will define the problems to solve, the metrics to track, and the analytics your system needs to support.

  3. 03

    Share data
    for assessment

Share sample data and how it is transferred so the Cobit Solutions team can assess its structure, formats, quality, and integration requirements.

  4. 04
